Love, sex, horror or action - take your pick this Friday as it is packed with films like Daniel Radcliffe's The Woman in Black, AR Rahman's musical Ek Deewana Tha and Nicolas Cage's latest Ghost Rider.

Ekk Deewana Tha

Genre: Romantic comedy

Synopsis: Ekk Deewana Tha is an intense, yet a feel-good love story of two very different personalities as they try to understand the love pangs and pleasure of first love while battling with the situations that life has put them in.

Sachin is a 22-year-old engineering graduate from a middle class family in Mumbai who is in love with the cinema. He is living as a struggler in the film industry — where his days are filled with waiting and then some more waiting, surviving on his father’s pocket money and desperately trying to make an entry into any of the film camps. For him, there is nothing that makes each day worth looking forward to.

That’s when he meets Jessie and falls in love with her at first sight. Jessie appears to be a simple, beautiful and smart girl. But Jessie’s life isn’t all that simple. She belongs to an orthodox Malayalam Christian family where watching movies, partying or falling in love are completely taboo.

While Sachin battles with the idea of someone like Jessie and her family living in the 21st century in modern Mumbai. But he keeps finding himself increasingly drawn to her. Jessie, for her part, tries to forge a friendship with him — believing that cloaking their feelings under the umbrella of friendship would save them from heartache and a full blown family drama. All this makes Sachin question — Of all the people in the world why did I have to fall in love with Jessie?

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy

Synopsis:
Eric is a perpetual adolescent who lives to party, holding lavish theme-events with his friends using his father’s large house in the Hamptons. Eric throws a bash attended by his friends Sue, Adam, Mike, Laura, Kate, Glenn, Doug and his girlfriend Willow, Alison and her boyfriend Marcus. Eric meets Kelly at the party.

Soon, Eric's father arrives and informs him that he is selling the house. The next weekend, the group arrive at the house and find it for sale by Dody and Kelly. Eric and Mike decide to throw a last ultimate party at the house on Labour Day.

Lamenting the more liberal sex attitude of the younger generation that passed over his own, Eric suggests having an orgy. When they present the idea to their friends, they are all reluctant, but eventually agreee.

The Woman in Black

Synopsis:
A widowed lawyer travels to a secluded village on an important assignment, and encounters a vengeful ghost with mysterious motives.

After losing his wife in childbirth, young barrister Arthur Kipps is consumed by grief. A haunted widower-father, he raises his son with the help of his devoted nanny. Arthur is on the verge of losing his job when an important client of the firm dies, and his boss offers him an opportunity to prove his worth by settling the woman’s affairs.

Determined to succeed, Arthur travels to a remote village and receives a chilly welcome. Something horrible once happened here, and it seems that the locals are determined to ensure Arthur never finds out what it was. Now, the more time Arthur spends in his client’s crumbling estate, the more aware he becomes of a presence that isn’t quite human. In this house dwells a woman’s ghost. In life she lost something precious and now in death she’ll do whatever it takes to get it back.

Synopsis: Matt Weston is a CIA rookie who is manning a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa, when Tobin Frost the CIA’s most wanted rogue agent is captured and taken to the safe house.

During Frost’s interrogation, the safe house is overtaken by mercenaries who want Frost at any cost and attack the safe house. Weston and Frost escape and must stay out of the gunmen’s sight until they can get to another safe house. he finds himself on the run with his charge.

Synopsis:
Ravi Malhotra is an NRI living in America and works for the mighty Larson & Jason — a US-based multinational which builds huge civil projects throughout the world like dams and bridges. One of its recent contracts was in India. The Dharbhanga Dam project in Bihar at District Saurabhpur.

It was planned and executed with a hundred year warranty by their top architect and engineer Ravi Malhotra. But within a few years, three of the dam’s gates are burst open, leaving hundreds of people dead, thousands are rendered homeless and public property worth crore washed down in floods.

The Indian government is contemplating suing the company for damages that run into millions. The company sends Ravi Malhotra to India to probe and investigate what exactly caused the damage. Ravi finds out the ‘shocking’ truth and hands over the file to the concerned authorities.

From that night on, Ravi goes missing. The authorities and the police feel he has escaped to evade arrest as the Indian government and the law holds Ravi and his company, Larsen & Jason, responsible for the disaster.

All efforts to trace him turn fruitless. After three months, his distraught wife Anjali follows him to Saurabhpur. From that moment on, she lands in India to eventually find her husband and in the process, she rediscovers their love for each other.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Synopsis:
Still struggling with the curse of being the Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when a secret sect of the church asks him to save a boy from the devil.

At first, Johnny is reluctant to use his power, but it’s the only way to save the boy and possibly rid himself of this curse forever.
