Despite not so impressive reviews, Mukesh Bhatt's Murder 2 has managed to garner good collections at the box office. Chillar Party on the other hand has got a lukewarm response.

According to Komal Nahta, Murder 2 has collected Rs 22.7 crore approx in its first weekend. "Murder 2 scored at the box-office in its first weekend (8 July – 10 July) by raking in Rs 22.7 crore approx (all-India net collections). The Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez starrer had taken a very good opening on Friday," writes Nahta for koimoi.com.

The film is doing well especially on single screens. Writes Taran Adarsh for Bollywood Hungama, "The response at most centres was 70%/75% +, which is considered very good. The single screens, in fact, reported better occupancy, while some plexes faced stiff competition from last week's Delhi Belly, which remains a hot fav of the youth. The film is expected to fetch impressive numbers over the weekend, since the reports are extremely positive."

Salman Khan's Chillar Party has won critics' heart, but failed to collect moolah at the box-office. According to Adarsh, "The second release, Chillar Party, had a lukewarm start and is dependent on word of mouth largely."
