Musical fight over Vivek Oberoi’s films

Looks like the clash over Vivek Oberoi’s films is far from over. A few days ago, HT Café reported how VO’s two films —Jayantabhai Ki Love Story and Kismet Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) — are set to release on the same day (October 5). And now, makers seem to have taken the fight to the next level.
Producers Amit Chandrra (of KLPD) and Kumar Taurani (of Jayantabhai) have roped in singers Mika and Atif Aslam to croon for their respective films. What’s interesting is that both Mika (remember ‘Ganpat’ from Shootout At Lokhandwala in 2007?) and Atif (‘Tere liye’ from Prince in 2010) have had a successful partnership with Vivek.
“That’s why it is interesting to see Tauraniji and Amit get these two singers in their respective films.
The idea behind roping them in is clear: both producers want to upstage each other with hit numbers. Vivek has worked hard on both films, and as an actor, he can’t be seen favouring one producer over another. So, he is completely out of it,” says an insider close to the development.
Amit, on his part, seems to have gone a step ahead by teaming up Mika with Vivek for a special video. Today, the singer will be canning the title number along with the actor at Film City.
When contacted, Amit confirmed: “Mika and Vivek have a 100 per cent track record. Plus, our film is Delhi-based and since both (Mika and Vivek) are Punjabi, it made more sense to have Mika on board. I am sure he has done a better job than ‘Ganpat’ with our song.” We’ve even heard that Mika has postponed one of his live shows to feature in the video.
While KLPD features Mallika Sherawat and Ashutosh Rana opposite Vivek, Jayantabhai Ki Love Story will see Neha Sharma of Kya Superkool Hai Hum fame paired with the actor.
