Besides wooing audiences with his acting skills, Ayushmann Khurrana has also amassed fans for his music talent. His debut film, Vicky Donor (2011), featured him singing his composition ‘Paani da rang’, which went on to become a hit. Another one of his compositions that he’s also lent his voice to, Saadi gali aaja, is part of his upcoming film, Nautanki Saala. Ayushmann reveals that he maintains a bank of songs from which these two numbers were chosen to be part of the films they got featured in. So will his upcoming project by Yash Raj Films (YRF) also see his compositions in the soundtrack? “None of my songs will be featured in YRF film. Most of the songs I’ve composed are in Punjabi and they might not match the situations of the film. Also, I don’t have time to compose new songs now. I’ll be taking a sabbatical between films to compose songs in Hindi to match the situations of the future films,” says Ayushmann.

Although he won’t be part of the film as a composer, he will be lending his voice to a number composed by indie folk rock artiste, Raghu Dixit. “I am singing one song with Neeti Mohan. We have already recorded it,’’ says Ayushmann, who is expected to start shooting for John Abraham’s production, Hamara Bajaj later this year. Keeping in mind the film’s story, he plans to approach director Shoojit Sircar to offer one of his songs for the soundtrack. “I’ll present a song called ‘Tere mere dil ka’ to Shoojit. He will take the creative call to feature it or not.”
