Do you remember the days when model-turned-actor Poonam Pandey made headlines for saying that she would strip if India won the 2011 Cricket World Cup? Many thought it was all a media strategy and Poonam now confirms it actually was.

“Those were days when I was nothing and the statement was a pure marketing strategy. Sabke apne apne tarike hote hai faide nikalne ke, maine nikala and I am happy as it worked for me quite well. Erotica was the shortest way for me to come into limelight, I choose it and it worked brilliantly.”

The actor who has 812k followers on social media believes that several celebrities have fake followers. She adds, “Right from Kim Kardashian to many other big celebrities, whom I don’t want to name, have fake followers. In my case, they are all real. This made it easy for me to promote things, because sab zinda hi log hai.”

Talking about her upcoming film, which is an erotica-horror, Pandey says, “Erotica was added because the director said that if Poonam is there in the film, why not add some spice to it. My fans expect also spice from me, I don’t want to hide my USP. Main agar kal ko unke samne sati-savitri bankar jaungi toh they will wonder why I am faking.”

The actor says that there is a reason why she hasn’t been in the news in recent times. “I was sitting at home refusing films because they were more about skin show. There has to be a story in it. So, it is always better to choose good scripts.”
