Actors Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda will reunite after a decade, for a film titled John Day. The pair was last seen in Randeep’s silver screen debut, Monsoon Wedding, which was released in 2001.

Since then, Randeep who is an ardent fan of Naseer’s, has treated the veteran actor as his guru. “I am very lucky that my first ever scene in cinema was with Naseer Sahab. I was always a big fan of his but after Monsoon Wedding, he also became a good friend and confidant. I have learnt a lot from him and I am glad that after doing theatre for so many years with him, I am getting such an interesting film to share screen space with him,” says the 35-year-old actor.

The film has been directed by Ahishor Solomon. “Solomon came to me with this great script and he had Naseer Sahab and Randeep in mind for portraying the two lead characters. We approached them and both readily agreed, after listening to the script. We are happy to have both of them together in John Day, where both have very interesting roles,” says producer Anjum Rizvi who also co-produced the critically acclaimed film, A Wednesday, which released in 2008.
