The film is directed by Milan Luthria.

His last release, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, didn’t exactly set the box office on fire. But Imran Khan seems to have a lot of faith in his upcoming film, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara. He feels that in the film, it’s the good old Bollywood drama that will work in it’s favour.

Imran says, “What attracted me the most towards this was something that I haven’t seen in a script before. New-generation directors shy away from drama and emotions because there’s a lot of Hollywood influence. They think twice before showing something dramatic. But these guys went all out. They want the audience to emote with each and every character (sic).” Imran also feels that writer Rajat Aroraa and director Milan Luthria have tried to capture real emotions in the film.

Imran, however, has been simultaneously shooting two films — Punit Malhotra's Gori Tere Pyar Mein and Once Upon…Was it confusing to handle two characters in two different films?
There was a point where I got totally confused. When you’re dealing with two completely different characters, that’s bound to happen. Our shoots didn’t always overlap, but a character leaves an impact on you. At one point, Punit would even refer to me as Aslam (Imran’s character from Once Upon…),” says he.
