Actor Nikhil Dwivedi suffered two fractures in his right hand while shooting an action sequence for filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s next, Hate Story.
The incident happened during the third take of a sequence in which he had to run over roofs of some houses, then jump on to a ledge and then on to a street.
“It’s a chase sequence and I crash into a villain who wants to catch me. I am supposed to push him away and jump. Somehow, the fighter didn’t move back when I pushed him, and I lost control. When I jumped, I landed on my hand and two bones were fractured,” says Nikhil.
However, the actor realised this quite late.
“The sequence ends at a telephone booth. When I tried picking the phone, I couldn’t hold it and it fell from my hand. I immediately called for a doctor and the fracture was detected,” he says.
However, he didn’t stall the shoot for too long. “I am still shooting and hiding the plaster under leather gloves or the sleeves of my jacket,” says Nikhil.
Directed by Aditya Dutt, Hate Story is a hard-hitting action film that also marks the Bollywood debut of Bengali actor Paoli Dam.
