Actor Parineeti Chopra, who is excited about the release of her next, Shuddh Desi Romance (SDR), was recently left disappointed. It seems the actor, whose hometown is Ambala, Haryana, wanted to promote the film there, but unfortunately, she wasn’t given a chance to do so.
A source close to the actor reveals, "Parineeti was thrilled to go to Ambala as part of the city tour for the promotions of SDR. This would have been her first visit to the city after becoming an actor. Her co-stars Sushant Singh Rajput and newcomer Vaani Kapoor were both going to accompany her."
But things didn’t end up as Parineeti would have hoped. The source says, “The local authorities and the event agency that was helping in getting the required permissions requested the makers of the film to not come to Ambala. In fact, they asked the makers to reconsider their visit. This was because they needed more time to make the necessary security arrangements and have everything in place. The people in Ambala would’ve been very excited to have Parineeti there, but no one could take the chance of hosting a promotional event without all the precautionary measures in place.”
The source further adds that the actor’s mother was most excited about the visit as she would have loved to host the entire team at the family’s home. In fact, Parineeti even visited Chandigarh for promotions, and Ambala would have been only an hour away.
The ones who did go to their hometown
Sonakshi Sinha: Last year, the actor paid a visit to her hometown Patna during the promotions of Son Of Sardaar.
Priyanka Chopra: Ahead of the release of her debut single, Priyanka was reportedly invited to Bareilly by the mayor of the city.
Deepika Padukone: This year, Deepika has gone to Bengaluru twice to promote her films Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express.
