Nawazuddin Siddiqui hopes that theatre will catch up to films, when it comes to fat paycheques.

“When I was doing theatre, TV serials had just started. Our ambition was to do only theatre, but a lot of my seniors started working in TV and came to Mumbai. Theatre doesn’t have money,” says Nawaz.

“I often request marketing people to bring theatre, especially Hindi theatre, to that position,” adds the actor, who featured in the TV series, Star Bestsellers: Alvida.
