Although rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has been missing from the music scene for a while now, it seems like the singer has become an inspiration for a character in an upcoming Indo-American film, The Spectacular Jihad Of Taz Rahim.

The film will see actor Rahsaan Islam as Taz Rahim, an aspiring singer. “The character of Taz has been inspired by Yo Yo Honey Singh. I loved this character as recreating that Yo Yo energy was such a happy space to be in,” says Taz.

Talking about how he prepared for his role in the film, Taz says that he would constantly be humming Honey Singh’s numbers. “I would listen to his songs before getting on the set. I remember this would drive my co-star Monica Dogra and director Raghav Murli nuts because I would keep singing his songs all day. All his songs are so peppy and different from everything else out there. It was such a pleasure shooting for this film,” adds Taz.
