While many actors have left their families back in their hometowns to move to Mumbai, there are others who have decided to move out of their parental homes in Mumbai itself.
Recently, rumour mills have been abuzz with reports of actor Priyanka Chopra looking for a house to move in on her own. Other actors such Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor have also followed the same route, whether it is for personal space or to set up home with a partner.
And if not the current crop, earlier, it was actors Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut and Neil Nitin Mukesh who moved in on their own, away from their family. Here's taking a closer look.
Buzz is that actor Alia Bhatt has decided to move out of her parents' house and is looking for property in Mumbai. There were also reports suggesting that the 22-year-old will be moving in with her rumoured boyfriend, Sidharth Malhotra. The 2 States actor is reportedly looking for a place close to her parents' house.
The strong-headed actor and singer has decided to live independently. The 32-year-old currently stays with her mother Madhu Chopra as well as her brother, Siddharth. Recent reports suggest that she is looking for a place where she will be moving in without them.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor hit headlines when he moved out of his parents' house last year. The 32-year-old is living with his girlfriend Katrina Kaif at the moment. His father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, had said, "My father gave me space when I moved out after marriage, and I gave Ranbir his space, too, when he decided to move out and share a home with his girlfriend."
As he confesses to plans of getting hitched to Delhi-based fiancée Mira Rajput soon, the actor is also busy setting up his new sea-facing house in Juhu, Mumbai. Buzz is that Mira is helping him set up the place. The actor also shared a pic of the house, and wrote, "Who wants to go out when this is the view at home!"
