Serial kisser Emraan Hashmi might have died in the superhit film Jannat, but he's coming back again to be part of Jannat 2. No, it's not his ghost, but a fresh character in a new story. Originally titled Informer, the second part is expected to be bigger and better with Bhatt's Vishesh films and Fox Studios tying up. The film would be based on the issue of illegal arms in Delhi.
We wonder why the film's title was changed at the last moment?
Mahesh Bhatt told hindustantimes.com, "After the dazzling success of Murder 2, we have realised the importance of opening weekend. Hence, we decided to carry forward the branding of our hit film Jannat. Jannat 2 though is not a sequel; it is a part of the Jannat franchise."
The film directed by Kunal Deshmukh would hit the floors in October this year and the shooting will continue till November. The film is set to release on April 6, 2012. The musical score would be composed by Pritam Chakraborty.
Emraan Hashmi continues to be the central character in the film. Prachi Desai would be back with Emraan Hashmi in the movie after romancing him in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. Other stars include Imran Zahid and Randeep Hooda. "Imran Zahid is playing a small role, but an important one, says Mahesh Bhatt"
The film marks the debut of Imran Zahid, who is also doing Chandu with Bhatts, based on the slain JNU leader Chandrashekhar. Zahid has played the role of Iraqi shoe-thrower Muntadhar Al Zaidi in the play The Last Salute before. Is he unhappy about the fact that Chandu would release after Jannat 2, where he's playing the title role?
Imran Zahid told our website, "In fact, I'm very happy that my debut film would be of such big scale. It's important for a newcomer to get noticed. And this movie would make sure I would be known before Chandu releases. I'm very lucky to be working with people like Mahesh Bhatt, Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Prachi Desai."
Imran Zahid and Randeep Hooda would be playing cops in the movie, while Emraan Hashmi would play informer.
