While the famous female actors in their 30s are fading away, others are busy making high-impact Bollywood debuts at that age.

Nargis Fakhri
Debut age: 31
Film: Rockstar, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor
Status: Awaited
Career graph: Born in New York, the half Pakistani-half Czech, Fakhri is raking in rave reviews for her looks in Rockstar, but her acting potential will come to test only when the film hits the screens next month.
Expert speak: It’s a dream debut for Fakhri, and now it’s up to her to take her stardom ahead.

Mahie Gill
Debut age: 33
Film: Dev D, co-starring Abhay Deol
Status: Hit
Career graph: Gill, 35, made her debut in showbiz at the age of 27, with Punjabi film, Hawayein. She made her Bollywood debut with a cameo appearance in Khoya Khoya Chand (2007), but her major break came with her first full-fledged role in Dev D (2009). The actor has since then established herself as an unconventional performer.
Expert speak: Though she is not a crowd-puller, she has made her mark as an actor. But she is yet to make it big with a mainstream commercial film.

Barbara Mori
Debut age: 32
Film: Kites, co-starring Hrithik Roshan
Status: Flop
Career graph: She made quite a few heads turn with her coveted looks, but the film’s weak storyline didn’t help Mori to secure her place in Bollywood.
Expert speak: She fitted the bill perfectly in Kites. However, coming back to Bollywood, in her case, is quite doubtful. A role would have to
be specifically written around her for that.

Poorna Jagannathan
Debut age: 38
Film: Delhi Belly, co-starring Imran Khan
Status: Hit
Career graph: American actor of Indian origin, she etched herself onto audiences minds with her power packed role as a journalist, but has faded into oblivion after the stupendous hit.
Expert speak: The movie had many popular names such as Aamir Khan and his actor nephew Imran Khan, and despite being a strong performer, this newcomer got completely overshadowed by those names.
