Paoli Dam who makes her debut in Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story this Friday, caught the eye instantly with a faceless first poster showing her bare back. And that has remained the talking point of the revenge drama’s promotional campaign. “Both Vikram and Vivek (director Agnihotri) had a specific look in mind, and I had to work really hard to get people to sit up and ask, “Whose back is that?” The picture tantalises the senses without revealing anything other than the back,” says Paoli. “The reactions have been very encouraging. At the end of the day the objective for any actor is to look good, right?”

Training
“I worked out thrice a day, starting with 30 minutes of cardio early in the morning, a session in the afternoon and weight training in the evening,” says Paoli, admitting that there were times when all the physical training left her breathless.

“But we had a deadline, and Prashant Sawant, who’s also trained Shah Rukh Khan, was really strict and would make me work out even on the sets. I got into shape in a month, losing 10 kgs. Then I had to make sure I maintained the figure."

Eat right
To begin with, it was a no salt, protein heavy diet of steamed fish and chicken and egg whites. Slowly, as they went along, some carbs were introduced. Says Paoli, “It was difficult for me since I’m a foodie with a craving for desserts. But it was no-no to sweets while we were shooting. But now I’m enjoying chocolates again!”
