When Aamir Khan produced Peepli Live, little did he know that his film would get a stamp of approval from none other than the Indian Prime Minister.
On Sunday evening, PM, Dr Manmohan Singh, along with wife Gursharan Kaur, witnessed a special screening of the flick at his residence. The film’s director Anusha Rizvi can’t stop raving about her newfound fan. “It was very satisfying to hear the PM say that he liked the film and that it had a message which we must act on. He said it’s evident that there are two Indias in our country, and we must have a more inclusive approach. We felt very vindicated and humbled at his words,” said Anusha.
Aamir and Anusha, along with actors from the film - Raghuvir Yadav who played Budhia and Omkar Das Manikpuri aka Natha - were also present for the screening. “Dr Singh watched the film with interest,” said a statement from the PM’s Office.
