Spanish actor-dancer Monica Cruz, best known as Hollywood diva Penelope Cruz’s sister, is expected to be in India after the monsoon to start shoot for her film, Flamenco In Bollywood.
The Spanish romantic comedy first made headlines early last year, however, work on the film has been deferred ever since. “Yes, the film has been delayed due to some production hassles,” says actor Nakuul Mehta of Haal-e-Dil fame. “The director (Onil Ganguly Avemore) has confirmed that the movie will go on floors post-monsoon in India. And later, we will be going to Spain to wrap up another schedule.”
In the movie, Monica plays a flamenco dancer, while Nakuul plays the role of a Bollywood actor, with whom she falls in love. “Since Monica stars in the love story, she will also need to be in India. But it’s difficult for me to know all the details right now, since the filmmakers aren’t based in India,” he says.
The Spanish movie that will be shot in India and Spain, features Nakuul’s character speaking in English. However, it has been reported that the actor has been busy learning the basics of Spanish language lately.
Even as Nakuul waits for the venture to start, he is looking forward to his latest release, Ajay Singh’s Avant Garde Pythagoras Sharma. The actor will don two hats in Singh’s forthcoming venture. “I’m working on Ajay’s next film too, where I’ll also be the creative director. Since I have always been interested in direction, it will help me learn a lot” he says.
