Actor Priyanka Chopra’s remark last month, about how female actors cannot take credit for Rs 100 crore successes, sparked off agitated comments from her peers. While Kareena Kapoor Khan said that she does not agree with Priyanka, her Agneepath (2012) co-star Hrithik Roshan maintained that a film is a team effort. However, despite the criticism, Priyanka still stands by what she said.
“I don’t know why people have to be delusional and illogical. Why are people scared to be honest? I still stand by my statement,” says the 32-year-old.
While the actor feels that her contribution in a film like Barfi! (2012) was instrumental in its success, she refuses to take credit for many others. “I was talking about my own films. I can’t take credit for Krrish 3 (2013) and Don 2 (2011); it will be foolish for me to do that. I had a huge supporting act in them. But for Barfi!, the credit should go to me, Ileana as well as Ranbir,” says the actor, also adding that both Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor should be given credit for 2 States (2013), and Katrina Kaif should get credit for Raajneeti (2010).

The actor, who is basking in the glory of her recent success, lauds the male actors, who she feels carry the entire film on their shoulders. “The boys go all out every time. I have a newfound respect for them after this film (Mary Kom biopic),” she says. However, she adds that she loves promoting her films. “I love promotions. I love talking about my work… it makes me feel proud. But at times, your body does not keep up,” says the actor, who had tweeted how exhausted the recent promotions left her.
