NH10, Anushka Sharma’s first home production, was appreciated for its brave take on the social condition of women in Haryana and Punjab. Her film won the audience and critics alike, and now she is ready with her second venture, Phillauri.
Directed by Anshai Lal, it seems like a mix of two stories and two ears. And the common factor between the two different zones is Anushka Sharma who is playing Shashi, a ghost in the film.
Yes, you read it right.
Actually, the trailer starts with Suraj Sharma, the Life Of Pi actor, who has come to Punjab to get married, but a local priest says he will have to get married to a tree first in order to combat the bad setting of his stars. The tree happens to be the home of Shashi’s spirit.
From here, it becomes a funny story in which Suraj Sharma looks confused about how to treat the ghost that’s visible only to him.
The second part of the trailer features a folk singer, played by Diljit Dosanjh. This flashback showcases the love story between Anushka and Diljit.
Phillauri looks like a fun film, and is set to hit the screens on March 24, 2017.
