Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh disappoints at BO, but may pick up

Political thriller Chakravyuh starring Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhay Deol and Esha Gupta in main lead has opened to a poor response at the BO. The film made Rs 3.25 (approx) on Dussehra. The word of mouth, however, can decide movie's fate.
If trade expert Taran Adarsh is to be believed, the multi-starrer still has a chance of making it big. "#Chakravyuh picked up after a slow start. Collects *approx* 3.25 cr on Wednesday [Dashehra]. Word of mouth is positive," he tweeted.
Trade website Koimoi.com reports that the poor average collections might be due to the National holiday.
"Chakravyuh opened to a really poor box office with an average occupancy of less than 25% across the country. It seems even this was due to the National Holiday yesterday or the movie would found no takers at all. The movie made about 2 Crores, as per early estimates on its opening day at the domestic box office," says Koimoi.com.
The website warns that poor reviews might take the toll. "The sad part for the film, were the poor reviews and negative word of mouth publicity. Since the movie could not create any hype on its opening day, there is little chance for it to recover now. Stiff competition from the well running Student Of The Year will also create issues for its box office future," as per the website.
Suprateek Chatterjee's review: Chakravyuh
There are films that try to tell emotionally complex stories and succeed in making an impact. Chakravyuh, unfortunately, is not one of those films. To be fair, Chakravyuh does get a few things right. The violence, though a tad excessive, is well orchestrated. Certain set-pieces, especially one that shows an entire village being razed, are executed well. Some performances, such as those by Bajpayee and Patil, are restrained and manage to add some authenticity and dignity to the proceedings. FULL REVIEW
