Highlight Story

Prateik seems to have beaten two major A-listers of B-Town, namely Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. The rather busy actor has bagged yet another role, this time to play the legendary sports icon Milkha Singh.

The film will be made by Rang De Basanti director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and has been named Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Apparently, there were talks of Akshay and Abhishek playing the title role. However, now the director is hell bent on Prateik doing the role.

"Rakeysh is very keen on Prateik. The director has seen his work in Jaane Tu Ya JaaneNa and Dhobi Ghat and has realised his potential as an actor. Prateik is, however, keeping his lips sealed about the project," a souce told Mumbai Mirror.

PrateikIt is believed that with five films on his hands already, Prateik too, is rather busy. However, since the script is good, he is willing to work out the dates, the source added.

When contacted, Prateik's spokesperson said, we are not in a position to talk about this. Please get in touch with Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra Productions office." Milkha Singh however, seems to be keen on Akshay Kumar stepping into his shoes for the film.

Milkha Singh aka Flying Sikh is an athlete who represented India in the 1960 Olympics. Bhaag Milkha Bhag is supposed to be the first biographical film to be made on a sports icon in India.

Singh was even invited to run in Pakistan where he defeated his opposition with ease. Interestingly, the Flying Sikh had run away from Pakistan during the partition, after witnessing the death of his parents.
