Not many know that Prateik has a vast collection of romantic films at home. From ’70s Hollywood to Bollywood till date, he has preserved all of them in his personal library.
What’s interesting is that the late Smita Patil’s son has shown his vast collection to ‘girlfriend’ and Ekk Deewana Tha (EDT) co-star Amy Jackson. An
insider from Prateik’s entourage informs that Amy was very surprised with his collection of romantic films.
“Prateik was happy to show her his treasure trove. Generally, he is quite shy about things but when Amy came to check out the collection, he went on and on
talking about Hindi romantic films. He, in fact, also made her watch some of the films,” informs the insider.
Apparently, the Dhobi Ghat actor has always loved romantic stories and has a separate section for them. He is extremely fond of love stories and often catches up with them when he has the time.
While his next film, Ekk Deewana Tha is also a love story, it’s believed that his next two ventures will be romantic tales too. “Prateik always wanted to do love stories because he feels our industry is known for the romantic genre,” says the insider. Interestingly, EDT’s music — composed by AR Rahman — was launched against
the backdrop of Taj Mahal, the ultimate symbol of love, in Agra.
When contacted, Prateik, who has just returned from Agra after the music launch, said: “Yes, I have always loved romantic films. In fact, I have grown up watching loads of love stories.”
Ekk Deewana Tha, directed by Gautham Menon, will release on February 3, 2012.
