Arjan Bajwa, who plays a grey character in a recently released film starring Vidya Balan, is all praise for the latter’s humility, but it’s his first co-star Priyanka Chopra, from Fashion (2008) that he seems to still be besotted with.
"It’s phenomenal the way Priyanka has transformed into this diva. She has an amazing personality... even now, if we happen to be in the same party, she will call out from a distance,” says the 34-year-old, adding, “Vidya is very down-to-earth and even Sonakshi Sinha is (co-star in Son of Sardaar; 2012) very chilled out, but Priyanka is definitely the hottest."
Arjan, who has worked in films down south, is now making his debut in Punjabi cinema this year, but it’s certainly Priyanka that he wants to team up with, again. “I wish Madhur Bhandarkar casts me in his film along with Priyanka," he says.
Curious, we prod him if he actually had a crush on Priyanka when he romanced her in Bhandarkar’s National Award-winning film. "Who wouldn’t have a crush on Priyanka?" says Arjan.
Meanwhile, he is also getting a lot of appreciation for his bearded look in his latest release, produced by Dia Mirza. "I was in South Africa for an awards function with this beard when Dia spotted me and said that she exactly had that kind of a character sketch for this role in her mind," explains Arjan, who feels “underutilised” so far in the industry.
