Puja Gupta is remembered for essaying the role of Ayushmann Khurrana’s clamorous neighbour in Vicky Donor (2012). Now, the young actor claims that her career has taken a leap and she will be essaying a leading role in Sean Brosnan’s (son of Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan) next, Land Of Leopold (LOL).
She was also seen in small roles in Blood Money (2012) and OMG Oh My God! (2012).
Land of Leopold, which reportedly centres on a rehabilitation process, will have Puja playing a character who has serious suicidal tendencies. “My character, Corrina, is undergoing a rehabilitation process,” says the actor.
Explaining how she got introduced to Sean, Puja says, “I have lived in the US for many years. But recently, when I visited the country for Paresh Rawal’s play, Dear Father, a friend of mine introduced me to Sean and his team. Then, I went to meet them in California. They had seen my work on YouTube and had liked it.”
Expressing her excitement, Puja says, “I am very excited. When they got in touch with me, I had no clue whether they will like my Bollywood work.”
While the film is in its nascent stage and the cast is being finalised, it’s rumoured that Sean is likely to rope in his father, Pierce, for a cameo. Apparently the shooting schedule of LOL has been delayed due to Brosnan’s family problems. “The shoot was supposed to begin in October this year, but it’s not happening.
Had that been the case, it would have clashed with my current Bollywood venture,” says Puja, who will soon be seen in Saurabh Varma’s Mickey Virus starring Manish Paul.
