Avid superhero fans can’t help but notice the stark similarity in the arc reactor in Shah Rukh Khan’s superhero project Ra.One’s outfit and that of Robert Downey Jr. starrer Iron Man. But SRK dismisses the similarities. "Ra.One is not India’s answer to Iron Man. It’s a new genre here. When I saw Iron Man, I was initially scared that it’ll be compared to it but honestly the film was written five years ago," says the actor, who was in the Capital to unveil a trailer of his ambitious project.
“They (Hollywood) are way ahead. I don’t think we have the technology like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man or Iron Man. Ra.One is the first step towards doing that,” adds the 45-year-old.
A ‘reforming’ scene in the trailer of the movie also suggests direct inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Terminator 2: Judgement Day. SRK doesn’t deny the same. “The scene, in a way, is definitely inspired from T2. The film actually has a lot of take off from that because it was the best I saw,” he says.
“The other day somebody told me my car shot is like the one in Krrish and GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra,” he adds. SRK doesn’t deny a Ra.One sequel in the offing too. “I’d love to do it. There are some films which lend themselves to another part. I hope Ra.One is one of them. It’s a personal desire,” he says.
The project will also see Shah Rukh showing off his chiselled body. “I have a scene where I will show my body and let people know that it is as close as possible to the one in the suit. I have a four pack now,” says the actor who lost six kilos due to the body hugging suit.
