If you thought that actor Shah Rukh Khan’s most ambitious upcoming film RA.One is just a superhero action film, then it’s time you learn a little more about the movie. That’s because Shah Rukh, 45, has made it a point to convey that the film, which is a wholesome entertainer, places great emphasis on human relationship especially the one that a father and son shares.

Read on, as we caught up with SRK at a recent event in Mumbai where he opens up about why he chose to make Ra.One, his relationship with his kids, and his desire to combat Hollywood film’s popularity in India.

On RA.One
It’s one of its kind film. I hope it will take Indian films forward. I want to prove that our films are much more than naach-gaana. I don’t want to let anyone down. It’s about a superhero, not me.

On desi superhero
We are the largest movie producing nation and we should have our own superheroes. Why should they come from America? We need to make Harry Potter, Batman and Superman.

On comparisons
Robot and RA.One are different. Don’t tell me it looks like this, it looks like that. Yes, it looks like all the films in the world and it’s still unique. We should respect this genre and stop comparing.

On family angle
The film talks about a father and son’s relationship. It has a bit of my relationship with my son, who thinks I’m not cool. I believe it will teach sons to love their fathers. They are as good as mothers.

On leaked song
Yeh bahut unfortunate hai ki aisa ho jaata haidukh zaroor hota hai. I wish it hadn’t happened, but it has happened. We can’t do anything about it. We are trying to save whatever we can.
