Directed by Remo D’Souza, Race 3 will hit the screens on June 15, 2018. The film has Salman Khan play a negative role for the first time.

One of the most awaited films of the year, Salman Khan’s Race 3, is all about choppers, speeding cars, fast-paced action and Salman Khan’s swag.

The first trailer for the film was released by Salman on Tuesday at an event in Mumbai, and subsequently shared online.

The 3-minute-9-second trailer video starts with Salman Khan’s character, Sikander, staring down at a city from a roof-top. She sets the tone with his introduction dialogue, “Ye zindagi ki race hai, kisi na kisi ki zindagi le ke hi khatam hogi (This is the race of life, it will take somebody’s life).”

We then see him doing high-octane action on bikes and even a chopper. We are introduced to other characters like Anil Kapoor’s don and his son, played by Saqib Saleem.

With bullets flying all over, Race 3 seems set in the backdrop of a middle eastern city. In close ups, Salman announces how he is ready to go to any length for his family. With the customary wedding joke, Salman takes the narrative forward and makes us meet a bare-chested Bobby Deol.

After some more action, the trailer finally ends with Salman holding a new-age bazooka. After Tiger Zinda Hai, this is the second time, Salman will be flaunting his high end gun totting skills.

Starting with Bobby Deol, Salman Khan introduced all the major characters of the film one by one on Twitter with special character posters.

Race 3 is the most ambitious Bollywood film of recent times. While the budget of the film is said to be whopping 120 crore, the value of its satellite and digital rights are projected to be worth 150 crore. If the deal goes through then Race 3 will become the costliest Bollywood film ever for broadcasters.

Abbas-Mustan directed the first two films in the Race franchise and Remo D’ Souza is helming the third. Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy were seen in the first film and John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Deepika Padukone starred in Race 2. Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starred in both Race films. Anil is the only original star to have return for Race 3.

The third instalment of the Race franchise is produced by Salman Khan under his Salman Khan Films banner and Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films. Other than Salman, the film also has Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez and Saqib Saleem.

In a conversation with DNA, Bobby Deol talked about how Salman Khan helped him in taking ‘better care’ of his body before the film. He said, “I’m part of films where our characters stand out the most, not just the main star cast. The strategy is to stay fit and people will come to me.”

The film has been shot in Mumbai, Thailand and Kashmir. It also marks the return of Bobby Deol to Bollywood limelight.

Race 3 will hit the screens on June 15, 2018.
