Bollywood’s Czarina, Ekta Kapoor has taken a leaf out of

Paranormal Activity

that came out with a prequel/sequel a year after

its October 16, 2009 release.

A week after her paranormal thriller,

Ragini MMS

, was unveiled at a midnight premiere on May 13, Ekta has started work on Part2.

'The story of the spirit continues into the next movie,' she confirms. 'We are planning to retain the original cast, the movie should go on the floors by the year end,' says the producer, who is toying with the idea of making it in 3D.

Ragini MMS 2

will also explain the events that lead to the Maharashtrian lady being tainted a

chudail

(witch) and blamed for the death of her family. Along with the ghost story, it will also follow up on Ragini and Uday’s story. 'Many have been wondering what happened to Ragini after she was found unconscious in the haunted house. Well, she survived, but being traumatised by the events of the night, she had to go in for therapy. After that, even I’m clueless,' laughs lead actor Kainaz Motivala, who will return with co-star Raj Kumar Yadav.

Kainaz herself was reportedly traumatised during the shoot, almost strangled during one particular shot. Why would she want to go through the horror again? 'Anything for Ragini,' she retorts. 'Today, all the recognition and appreciation I’m getting is because of her. Ragini has become synonymous with Kainaz, how can I let her go?'

The original Ragini, whose MMS scandal was the trigger, was threatening to sue Ekta before release, apparently due to apprehension that the sex scenes would be associated with her? Kainaz hasn’t met Deepika yet but hopes she’s seen and liked the movie; 'It’s wasn’t exactly her story, but Ragini is seen as a sweet girl and not a brazen hussy.'

Part 2 will be scarier and steamier. Given that she had to re-shoot her bedroom scenes because the chemistry was missing.

Is Kainaz prepared for a sizzling sequel? 'I won’t say I’ll be more comfortable, but I definitely won’t be so awkward because I know now that it’s all technical and not personal,' she says.
