Dubbing for the desi version of Hollywood’s hit flicks seems to be the latest fad among Bollywood actors like Sharukh Khan, Akshay Kumar.
Actor: Shah Rukh Khan
Film: The Incredibles
Shah Rukh Khan, 45, gave his voice for the Hindi version of The Incredibles titled Hum Hain Lajawaab, that was released in 2004. SRK dubbed for the film’s lead character called Mr Incredible. SRK’s son Aryan also did the voice over for one of the characters that was originally dubbed by actor Spencer Fox in the US. “I would like to do an animation film, where an actor narrates the script and the animation is done following his voice,” said the actor.
Actors: Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey
Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey lent their voices for Carlos Saldanha’s 3D animation film, RIO. Bollywood’s charming comical pair say they had a blast dubbing for the film, that released in April this year. Ranvir and Vinay dubbed for characters Nico and Pedro respectively. They are protagonist Blu’s friends. The film that was released simultaneously in English and Hindi also had songs sung by singers Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan.
Film: Transformers 3
Akshay Kumar was Hollywood filmmaker Michael Bay's first choice to dub for his sci-fi film — Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The 43-year-old will be the desi voice of Optimus Prime, one of the significant characters in Hindi version. Akshay, who is very excited about this offer, says that he is doing it for his son Aarav who is a big fan of the Transformer series.

Film: Pirates Of The Caribbean 4
Rajesh Khattar, who was appreciated for his negative role in Farhan Akhtar’s Don, added a feather to his cap by becoming the voice of Jack Sparrow aka Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean 4. In the past, he has dubbed for the leads of desi version of big Hollywood films such as X-Men, Da Vinci Code, Ghost Rider, Iron Man series, Shrek series, among others. “I have done almost 100 movies and given voice over for almost all Hollywood stars,” says Khattar.
