Rumours had it that director Nikhil Advani had signed Kai Po Che actor Raj Kumar for his next, D-Day, in which he was to apparently play a pivotal role. But now, Nikhil reveals that the actor is not part of the cast, but has been roped in for a voice-over.

Raj Kumar’s voice has been used for the character of Huma Qureshi’s husband, who is never shown on-screen in the film. “Huma’s phone calls with her husband add an interesting dimension of dilemma to her character. So it was important to have an impactful voice to make the story angle work. Post Kai Po Che, I have been in touch with Raj and he was kind enough to reach the dubbing studio within half an hour of my call,” says Nikhil.

Raj Kumar, on the other hand, was more than ready to do the voice-over. “The concept of narrating a story solely through my voice intrigued me, and without a second thought, I reached the dubbing studio. Nikhil knew exactly what he wanted, which made my work easier,” says Raj Kumar.
