Rajkummar Rao has been cementing his place as an actor with films like Shahid (2013) and CityLights. However, work on his next — a movie produced by Bejoy Nambiar — has come to a halt. And, it seems unlikely that the project will go on the floors anytime soon.
The first time the film ran into trouble was just a week before it was to go on the floors in June. The director, Akarsh Khurrana, walked out citing creative differences with Bejoy. Heeraz Marfatia was then roped in to helm the movie, and it was reported that the project would go on the floors immediately. However, that too did not happen.
In the meantime, sources say that Rajkummar got busy with his other films. When we got in touch with the actor and asked him about the film’s progress, he said, "I think the film is history. It wasn’t going anywhere, and after a point I didn’t know what was happening with it. Also, I couldn’t keep my dates on hold for a long time."
And, does the actor regret not being part of another film — Anushka Sharma’s debut production? He says, "I have no regrets. I think I’m God’s favourite child. He has good things lined up for me."
