Actor Rakesh Bedi, who starred with late actor Reema Lagoo in the 1995 television show Shrimaan Shrimati, says she was not just a co-star, but a close friend too. “When I got the news in the morning, I was in shock. She was such a dear friend. It was so nice to work with her. In fact, the show became so popular that everyone remembers it till today,” says Rakesh, whose character, Dilruba, was loved by viewers.
The actor says that he had another season of the show in mind. “There are so many of these old shows that are coming back. Just a few days ago, I was thinking if we can make a second season of Shrimaan Shrimati. And then today, I got this news. It’s shocking,” says Rakesh.
The 62-year-old says he shared a very “peculiar” relationship with Reema. “I used to trouble her a lot. And then after some time, she would get irritated and even angry. But then she would be fine after some time and again we would be talking. This used to go on and on. She used to trouble me too. But, of course, the main ingredient behind all this was love.”
