Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in Tamasha. The film’s good BO collection comes as a relief for Ranbir who has had three flops in a row.

Imtiaz Ali’s latest entertainer Tamasha, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, has earned Rs 24.04 crore within two days of its release. The film was reportedly made at a budget of Rs 60 crore and the steady box office collection bodes well for it.

According to a statement by the film’s makers, the opening day collection of the movie amounted to Rs.10.87 crore while it collected Rs.13.17 crore on day two -- taking the two-day business to Rs.24.04 crore.

Talking of overseas business, the estimated overseas gross box office collection figure till Saturday night was Rs 18 crore. The film has a three-week box office window before the next big releases -- Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani -- come out.

Presented by UTV Motion pictures and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Tamasha is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film released on Friday.

Tamasha narrates a story of internal conflict. It is about two individuals, who meet while on a holiday and decide to make-pretend during the trip, but problems erupt when they return to their real life. Largely, the movie is the love saga of a storyteller who rediscover himself thanks to the woman he loves.
