Ranbir Kapoor has a lot of friends in the industry, and he sure knows how to maintain his friendships. So after working with close pal, director Ayan Mukerji, in Wake Up Sid (2009) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, he is now set to work with schoolmate Vikramjit Singh (also known as Vicky Singh) in his next film, Roy. And though Ranbir’s dates are hard to come by, considering his packed diary, he has given time to his pal.
Ranbir will start shooting for the Bhushan Kumar-produced film from December. “Right now, he is working on Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet before starting Jagga Jasoos around October. And going by his December schedule, Ranbir will shoot for Vicky’s film before Imtiaz Ali’s next and Karan Johar’s new film (that will start around mid-2014),” says an industry insider.
Ask Vicky about this and he says, “Ranbir is professional. He doesn’t consider all these things (friendships etc). It’s just that he ended up liking the script. It’s not easy to reach him, and even when you get a meeting, you are told, ‘Come after three-four months.’ But he took only about two weeks to read my script.”
Along with Ranbir, who, Vicky saysm plays “a very dynamic part,” the film also stars Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez. Like in Besharam, he again plays a thief in this film.
