Ranbir Kapoor, who has just finished shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Deepika Padukone, seems to be on a roll.
Without taking a break, the actor now has started preparing for his role in director Abhinav Kashyap’s next. And for the part of a rustic hero in Besharm, he is now preparing to lose his lean look.
"He will need to put on some muscle as he will be shooting quite a few fighting sequences," says Pradeep Bhatia, the actor’s trainer, from Elixir Fitness, Andheri. Ranbir will start shooting for the film on March 10.
The training will also come handy for Anurag Kashyap’s dream project, Bombay Velvet, which will also feature the actor in a rugged role.
Revealing more about his fitness regimen, Pradeep says, "Three days a week we work on his chest, back, triceps, shoulders and legs. Every fourth day, we have been doing TRX suspension training, which is a high-intensity functional workout. I make him run with a truck tire tied to him. Through the week, we also concentrate on a lot of free weight training and 10 sets of push-ups and squats. On the seventh day, he usually takes a break."
The routine is expected to get even more intense in the coming weeks. “He is not going to show his abs in the film, but he will need to look tough when he shoots the action scenes,” says Pradeep.
