Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif’s Jagga Jasoos, a Disney film for kids, rated ‘U/A’ by CBFC
Jagga Jasoos, the new film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, has been rated ‘U/A’ by the CBFC. It is produced by Disney and was intended to be a children’s film.
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos, produced by Disney and intended by director Anurag Basu to be a children’s film, has been given a U/A certificate by the CBFC.
Reporting for DNA, Subhash K Jha quotes a source who tells him “the film was submitted for certification on Thursday, and was cleared on Friday afternoon.”
No cuts have been recommended by the CBFC.
But the film’s team isn’t too pleased with the rating. An unnamed source says, “We wonder what the censor board saw in Jagga Jasoos that made it suitable for children only accompanied by an adult.”
CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani defended the decision. “Let the film release. The world will see why we think it is necessary for children to be accompanied by an adult.,” he said.
Jagga Jasoos is scheduled for release on July 14.
