Rangoon BO collections: Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut starrer has a ‘dismal’ start
Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan’s Rangoon has not done good business on the first day of its release. The film made only Rs 6.07 crore.
Things are just not looking up for Vishal Bharadwaj’s latest directorial venture, Rangoon. The first day’s collections for the film are in and they are anything but positive.
The Shahid Kapoor- Kangana Ranaut- Saif Ali Khan starrer made only Rs 6.07 crore on Friday. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh says that the film will have to perform better over the weekend to survive in the theatres.
“#Rangoon has a dismal start... Fri Rs 6.07 cr. India biz... Will need to show massive growth on Sat + Sun to sustain and survive,” he tweeted on Saturday.
Meanwhile, last week’s release, Ghazi Attack, has made a total of Rs 27 crore over seven days. Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 is still flying high and has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
Rangoon opened to lukewarm reviews on Friday. Critics are complaining of a flawed plot that loses steam midway. Only Kangana’s outstanding performance has come in for some praise.
The film is a love triangle between Saif, Kangana and Shahid’s characters, set in the midst of the Second World War.
