After a lot of rumours and false alerts, it can now be confirmed that Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji and husband Aditya Chopra are indeed expecting their first child. The actor, who is travelling out of India at present, is reportedly in her second trimester and the baby is expected in January 2016, according to reports.
The couple is media-shy and unlikely to make any public announcement. However, Rani's pregnancy was confirmed by her sister-in-law, TV actor Jyoti Mukerji. When asked about the actor's pregnancy, Jyoti told a Mumbai-based tabloid, "Yes, Rani is pregnant." Rani Mukerji, who was last seen in Mardaani, married filmmaker-producer Aditya in April 2014 in a quiet ceremony.

The 37-year-old actor first sparked off rumours when she was spotted at a plush spa in London where she was supposed to get a prenatal spa. "Rani has been away from media glare for some time now, and there are speculations that she is pregnant. She was recently spotted holidaying in London, where she looked relaxed, and was glowing. She was seen visiting a plush spa for prenatal massage," a Mumbai tabloid quoted a source as saying.
Aditya is famous for keeping a low profile and staying away from the media. Rani has also followed her husband's example and appears publicly only for professional assignments. While the couple visited UK last month, they are off to an undisclosed destination at present.
This is not the first time that pregnancy rumours involving the actor are doing the rounds. While earlier she had rubbished the reports, her spokesperson did not comment on the issue this time.
