Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who were visiting different cities to promote their forthcoming movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’, on Friday launched Radio Mirchi Amritsar and Patiala stations.

Radio Mirchi has adopted a fresh approach towards the new stations keeping in mind the prevalence of Punjabi music.

The station would be broadcasting at a different frequency (104.8 FM) but claims to provide the similar shows and useful information that it is known for.

“Mirchi 104.8 FM is a compilation of what our listeners told us they want from a radio station; focus on playing more Punjabi music and being actively involved with their lifestyle,” Prashant Panday, CEO and executive director, Entertainment Network India Limited, said in a statement.

The launch of these stations came on the heels of the Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards here that saw some of the stars of Punjabi music shaking a leg and competing for the awards trophy in 12 film and non-film categories.
