Ranveer Singh's chilly tales for Ram Leela

Being the perfectionist that he is, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making sure that every scene in his upcoming film, Ram Leela, looks out of this world. Apparently, he made Ranveer Singh shoot a song sequence in freezing cold water for 45 minutes for his upcoming film.

Being the perfectionist that he is, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making sure that every scene in his upcoming film, Ram Leela, looks out of this world. And this perfection seems to have rubbed off on the film’s lead actor, Ranveer Singh, too.

Apparently, for a song sequence, the actor shot in freezing cold water in Udaipur for about 45 minutes till the choreographer was satisfied. The temperature at that time was nearly three degrees Celsius.

A source close to the production house reveals, “The on-screen sequence was supposed to be five minutes long. Shooting in water when it is three degrees Celsius outside is not easy and it was obviously challenging for Ranveer. Initially, the unit was unsure about whether he would be able to pull off the scene, but much to everyone’s surprise, he not only managed it, but he gave a perfect shot in just one take.”

The actor stayed in the water for close to 45 minutes. The source adds, “More importantly, Sanjay was extremely pleased with the way the shot turned out.”
A story of love in violent times, Eros International and Bhansali Productions’ Ram Leela will see Ranveer and Deepika Padukone come together for the first time.

It is slated to release on November 29. Ranveer and Sanjay remained unavailable for comments, but after repeated attempts, the production house confirmed the news.
