Exactly after a year, Ranveer Singh is returning with his second film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl that is releasing on Friday. He plays a charmer and one hopes he charms the audiences in the same manner as he did in his debut movie Band Baaja Baaraat.

He had teamed up with Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat and their crackling on-screen chemistry added flavour to the story of two college pass-outs becoming wedding planners and eventually falling in love.

Ranveer has once again teamed up with Anushka Sharma for this romantic comedy, which also marks the debut of Priyanka Chopra's cousin, Parineeti Chopra.

Apart from Anushka's presence, other common elements are that just like Band Baaja Baaraat, this romantic comedy is also from the Yash Raj Films' stable and Maneesh Sharma, who debuted with Band Baaja Baaraat, has wielded the megaphone for the film, which is said to be inspired by 2006 Hollywood hit John Tucker Must Die.

In the film, Ranveer cons girls for a living but finally finds his right match in Anushka. The actor says his character Ricky Bahl "is not that of a casanova but of a charmer".

"Ricky Bahl is not a casanova or a heart breaker. He has a natural skill of charming the ladies and he thinks why not use his natural skill and get some money from them? His purpose is not to break hearts or be a casanova but money is his main focus. He does not play with emotions," he added.

The film, which also features Aditi Sharma and Dipannita Sharma, starts with three different women being conned by the same guy.

Dimple Chaddha (Parineeti Chopra), a Delhi girl, fals in love with fitness trainer Sunny Singh, Mumbai-based Raina Parulekar (Dipannita Sharma), a successful corporate woman, does business with an art dealer, Deven Shah, while widow Saira Rashid (Aditi Sharma) makes a new friend, the shy Iqbal Khan. What is common is that all three lose a huge sum of money to their respective friends.

The man who dupes them is none other than Ricky Bahl, a suave and charming man who just wants one thing: money.

As luck would have it, the three women come together and vow to take down Ricky and get their money back. The next step is the actual plan.

Enter Ishika Desai (Anushka Sharma), a street smart girl who wants to be at the top. What happens when the three angry women, a professional conman and a girl who loves adventure reach Goa forms the rest of the film.

Anushka Sharma feels her co-star's charming ways help him in having his way with the girls, both in reel and real life.

Providing competition to the film at the box office by releasing on the same day are producer Vikram Bhatt's Lanka, a modern day folklore that stars Manoj Bajpayee, Arjan Bajwa and Tia Bajpai.

Lanka is an emotional journey of a man torn between the loyalty for his mentor and the empathy he feels for a girl; a journey of a modern-day Asur (devil) who chose to be a man, a journey of a man who would be termed a traitor by some, and a righteous man by others.
