Way back in 2007, they worked together in films like Traffic Signal and Aaja Nachle. Now, for the first time after getting married in 2010, Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sen Sharma are coming together in Anant Mahadevan’s Gaur Hari Dastaan.
“Yes, we are doing the film, but we barely have any scenes together,” says Ranvir. Konkona plays Odisha’s freedom fighter Gaur Hari Das’ wife in the film. “Vinay (Pathak) is playing the title role while I play the supporting character of a friend / journalist. It’s an exciting project and we are really looking forward to it,” he adds.
Ranvir and Konkona who had a son, Haroon, in 2011, also took their kid to the film’s sets. “After Haroon was born, I took six months off while she took around two years off,” says Ranvir, who’ll be seen in friend Rajat Kapoor’s Fatso next. Konkona, who was last seen in a cameo in 2011 release 7 Khoon Maaf, has also signed up Vishal Bhardwaj’s Daayan.
Kalaripayattu to lose flab!
“For Fatso, I had to gain 15-20 kilos. Although it was a health risk, I went ahead. If it hadn’t been Rajat’s (Kapoor) film, maybe I wouldn’t have done it. It’s my third film with Rajat and that’s why I have implicit faith in him. Gaining weight wasn’t tough, but losing was a challenge. And I have worked really hard. For almost a year, I practiced Kalaripayattu (Kerala’s martial arts) to shed the flab.”
