Raveena Tandon came to the defence of Salman Khan and her other Bollywood colleagues who have backed the actor found guilty in a 2002 hit-and-run case.

Taking to Twitter, Raveena said she cannot understand this "crucification by media". She added that although her heart goes out to the victim's family and the tragedy of losing a sole bread earner, "are people supposed to abandon a friend in his trying times??whom you've known in good times and bad..then you are no friend.. (sic)."

Some of Bollywood celebs like jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali and singer Abhijeet have faced backlash for tasteless tweets on the case.

In a series of tweets, she wrote, "(The actor) makes a costly mistake, Will pay price in ths lifetime, I strongly believe in karma,no point baying for his blood, let God & law take its course."

Terming some of the Twitter reaction ridiculous, she said, "Use your sensibilities… cannot compare this to hardened criminals of society... Do not become a lynching hysterical mob."

She ended her tweet trail with "#thinkbeforeyoutweet".

Earlier she also visited Salman Khan at his Galaxy Apartments residence.
