Choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza, who took the box office by storm with his 3D dance film, Any Body Can Dance (ABCD), earlier this year, is now preparing to make its sequel on a grand scale. Although the first part was made on a shoestring budget and filmed entirely in India, the upcoming movie will be shot abroad.
“With the sequel, I want to create an even bigger wave and I am heading to Disney Studios in Los Angeles, USA, to start the work on that,” says Remo.
Though the makers are yet to make up their mind on whether the sequel will feature the entire cast from ABCD (comprising winners of dance reality shows), sources insist that Prabhudheva will make a comeback as the lead character.
“He is there in the sequel and the makers might rope in some of the dancer-actors from the first film, but they are yet to take a call on that,” says the source.
The producers, Disney-UTV, are equally excited about the sequel. “We are looking forward to making a bigger film. We want to take the story to the next level on international shores. Remo has a fabulous idea and we’re hoping to make a film that will have a beautiful story at its core. He has already started working on it,” says Rucha Pathak, senior creative director, studios, Disney-UTV.
The director will start working on the sequel around December. He is currently wrapping up an action film with Sidharth Malhotra.
