A few days back, there were media reports of Ranbir Kapoor gearing up to revive the prestigious banner, RK Films. However, that topic doesn’t seem to have come up at a Kapoor family dinner.
When Karisma Kapoor was asked, she seemed completely unaware of the news. “I didn’t know that it is being revived. I’m very happy about that,” says the actor, who has now permanently shifted back to Mumbai from Delhi.
When asked if she’d work under the banner if an opportunity came along, she says, “If there is any kind of film where I can fit in, I will surely do it.”
However, where Karisma’s acting career is concerned, her comeback film — director Vikram Bhatt’s 3D horror, Dangerous Ishq (2012) —wasn’t much to write home about. However, the Raja Hindustani (1996) star is certain that she can still draw audiences: “The fate of a film doesn’t matter to me today. I’m no longer in the rat race, but I can still choose the movie I want to act in. The box-office collections don’t matter at all; your fans want to see you anyway. It’s a great space to be in,” says Karisma.
She is certain that the outlook is the same with the other married female actors making a comeback — the likes of Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi, Raveena Tandon. “We obviously have a fan following, so we endorse international brands. Now it’s all about doing a good film,” she says.
So, what’s next for her? “I’m taking it easy, reading a few scripts. Maybe I’ll do a movie next year. I haven’t decided on anything yet,” says Karisma.
