Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is yet to release the second installment of his horror franchise Bhoot. Even the trailer for this one, called Bhoot Returns, hasn’t started airing yet.
But RGV — known for his inimitable ability to surprise — has already announced a part three! A source close to the director reveals that he showed a 15-minute clip of Bhoot Returns to a specific section of the film fraternity recently. “The positive response triggered the idea for a third installment of Bhoot, and he has now decided to make it,” says the source. The child artiste Alayna Sharma, around whose character his second movie Bhoot Returns revolves, has shot for a special video in which she asks everyone to share a story of paranormal occurrence that can qualify as a horror story for the third part. And what does the winner get? “He/she will get to spend a day on the sets with RGV, while he shoots for his next and the story will be the main screenplay for Bhoot 3,” says the source.
The contest is on and participants can send their entries through Twitter and Facebook.
When RGV was contacted, he confirmed the news saying, “Bhoot 3 was always on the cards. As much as I’d like to scare people, I also know that people like to be scared. I am sure that there are enough paranormal stories out there to be shared.”
Bhoot Returns also stars south actor JD Chakravarthy and Manisha Koirala, who play the parents of Alayna’s character.
