If you look at actor Richa Chadda’s career so far, she seems to have a knack for picking offbeat, challenging roles. Yet, there’s one territory the actor seems extremely reluctant to venture into – nude scenes.

If you look at actor

career so far, she seems to have a knack for picking offbeat, challenging roles – from the feisty Nagma Khatoon in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) to the strong supporting character, called Raseela, in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013).

Yet, there’s one territory the actor seems extremely reluctant to venture into – nude scenes. It seems she was offered a project called Parched, which is being co-produced by Ajay Devgn, along with a Los Angeles-based producer, and will be aimed at international audiences. And even though Richa found the script and concept interesting, she apparently backed out on learning that she’d have to do a nude scene.

An insider says, "There is a nude scene in the film, and it isn't titillating or sensational. But Richa wasn’t comfortable doing it, and declined the project." To be directed by Leena Yadav (Teen Patti, 2010), the film is touted to be a realistic drama about women in rural India, and will be shot across Rajasthan.

Apparently, this isn't the first time that Richa has turned a film down owing to skin show. "She had turned down another film, a German-LA co-production. The makers wanted an Indian face for a character, but as that required nudity, she turned it down," the source adds. Even in Bollywood, Richa earlier turned down Ragini MMS 2, as the makers wanted a lesbian act with the lead actor, Sunny Leone.

We tried reaching Richa, but she was unavailable for comment.
