RIP Vinod Khanna: Bollywood cancels events in solidarity with the actor

A number of events including the world premiere of Bahubali 2 were cancelled on Thursday after the news of Vinod Khanna’s death was revealed.

The news of veteran actor, Vinod Khanna passing away came as a huge shock to the film industry. In fact, to express solidarity, a number of events were cancelled on Thursday. For starters, the world premiere of Bahubali: The Conclusion that was scheduled to take place at an Andheri multiplex was cancelled by film-maker Karan Johar.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The demise has come as a huge shock to all of us,” read a statement from Karan, SS Rajamouli (director) and the film’s team. Also, the press show of the film was cancelled by the team.

Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday at a Mumbai hospital.

Khanna’s yesteryear co-star, Amitabh Bachchan reportedly also walked out of an interview soon after he heard the news of Khanna’s demise to offer his condolences and be by the side of late actor’s family. Later, all the interviews of Sarkar 3 that also had Yami Gautam as a part of it were cancelled. Also, a photo shoot of Mubarakan featuring Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Athiya Shetty and Ileana D’Cruz was cancelled on Thursday morning.
