Actor Rohit Roy says he visited every studio to get good projects, called up producers, but in vain.

Actor Rohit Roy, who recently won the award for the Best Negative Role at the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2017 for his role in Kaabil, says life wasn’t hunky dory before the film came his way and he was losing importance in Bollywood.

“This award for Kaabil means a lot to me because I had been almost written off from the industry and had no good work for two-three years. I could see it in people’s eyes. I would meet TV producers for work and some of them were friends, so, I would get coffee and biscuits but not work. I must have called up all the TV and film producers I know for roles and even went to the channels’ offices. It wasn’t their fault. Unfortunately, my time was bad,” says Rohit, who has also been a part of films such as Fashion (2008) and Kaante (2002).

However, the dull period of his career did not let him give up on his dreams. “I wasn’t disappointed. I have always believed in one mantra that has held me in good stead all my life. Nothing in life is constant; neither success nor failure. And it is because of this that you would see me smiling and jumping around happily always,” he says.
