R Madhavan, who has been part of successful films like Rang De Basanti (2006), 3 Idiots (2009) and Tanu Weds Manu (2011), will soon be seen in the Hollywood film, Night Of The Living Dead. The movie is being be directed by Simon West. But interestingly, the actor says he doesn’t think it is a huge break for him.

While many Bollywood actors make a hullaballoo after doing cameos in Hollywood films, do you believe that this film is a big leap in your career?
First of all, my excitement is to find good films, portray new characters and surprise the audience. As far as Hollywood is concerned, I feel it was a stroke of luck. I won’t say it’s a huge break or that is going to change my career. I can’t say it’s path-breaking or I that I have done something extra-ordinary. It’s just another opportunity. I hope that the film works and people like my work.

Why is Hollywood a huge attraction for Indian actors?
Let’s be honest. Every actor wants to do a Hollywood film. First of all, in terms of technology they are way ahead of us (Bollywood). Also, if you are a Hollywood star, you get recognised almost everywhere. The kind of money one gets is also comparatively higher.

Even though you have been part of some good films, you have not made it big as a solo lead in Bollywood. Do you agree?
I can’t dance and don’t have six-pack abs. I work with my limitations and I am not a phenomenal actor. So I wait for good roles and scripts. In fact, I haven’t done many lead roles. Out of the four, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), Ramji Londonwaley (2005), Tanu Weds Manu and Jodi Breakers (2012), two have flopped and two fared well.
